What is Water-based Barrier Coating (WBBC)?

Water-based Barrier Coating (WBBC) is used to restrict the flow of oil, grease and water through material in order to serve its purpose and offer better protection. The ability of controlling this flow is useful in food packaging. This coating is used in our wide range of products, including Paper Cup, Paper Bowls and other Paper Containers.

When designing food packaging, there is a wide range of requirements to meet and balance. For example, while continuously improving sustainability performance, food safety should not be compromised, and consumers functionality needs to remain. It is crucial to keep the balance in between both.  Our WBBC is safe for direct food contact and able to keep fluids inside the containers securely. It is an alternative choice to replace PE, PP & PLA coatings etc, and help to reduce the use of single-use plastic (SUPs) in the community.

Our products that are made with WBBC are not only commercial compostable and biodegradable, but also recyclable. They can be recycled via community recycling networks, that is, through recycling stations, recycling stores and recycling spots.Turn the single-used paper containers into paper pulp, give them a second life as tissue paper and other recycled-paper goods and re-enter the supply chain.
